Faaker See

The turquoise Lake Faak with its idyllic island in the middle looks almost like paradise. Active holidaymakers can look forward to all sorts of activities not only on and in the water, but all around the lake too. Tips: a kayak tour through the reed belt, the Kopein mountain bike trail, the Kanzianiberg rock climbing centre, hiking on the Alpe-Adria-Trail (Stage 22) and a visit to the European Bike Week.

Ossiacher See/Gerlitzen

From the shores of Lake Ossiach, the largest of the nine swimming lakes in the region, the Kanzelbahn gondola leads up to the Gerlitzen, a family adventure mountain with a high rope course, cart track and the best thermals for paragliders. From May onwards the lake offers an enticingly refreshing swim – or a circular cycle tour past the ruined Landskron Castle and the former Benedictine monastery of Ossiach Abbey.

Dobratsch Nature Park and Dreiländereck

Dobratsch nature park shows how a sustainable development is possible. Here everyone gets his own adventure. The smallest enjoy the adventure playgroud and adults can choose from many different hikes and a lot of culinary offers in the mountain huts.

Up on the alpine pastures you can enjoy views of the Alpine-Adriatic mountain world, whilst down below the warm lake waters of up to 28 degrees sparkle in the sun. Drau town of Villach

The heart of the region beats in Villach, the town on the River Drau, with its picturesque pedestrian zones and cafés. Here you can really feel the Carinthian peoples’ zest for life, and the focus is on celebrating, especially around Carnival time and the famous Kirchtag fair. The KärntenTherme in Villach-Warmbad is one of Austria’s most modern spa experiences, open all year round.
