  • In the holiday destination Carinthia, further measures were taken to contain the spread of coronavirus. Therefore the winter season was ended prematurely. For this reason we are allowed to give you the following information.

The situation in Carinthia?

There are confirmed cases of coronavirus in Carinthia. Traveling from Germany, Hungary, Italy, Switzerland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic to Austria is not possible at the moment.

The winter season in Carinthia was ended prematurely. The accommodation facilities ended their operation on 16 March, 8:00 p.m., the mountain railways are closed. Since Monday, 16 March, shops that do not serve the basic supply will remain closed. Explicitly remain open food stores, pharmacies, drugstores, post offices or banks, gas stations, car repair shops and the sale of medical products. Catering establishments are closed.

By order of the health authorities, no gatherings of any kind are allowed until 13 April. Leisure facilities such as cinemas or discotheques as well as playgrounds and sports grounds are also covered by this regulation. Information on specific cancellations can be found on the websites of the respective institutions/events.

What is the cancelation policy?

In case of no-show, the standard cancellation conditions of the respective accommodation facility will usually apply. The guest receives this information directly from the accommodation booked and, if necessary, from the travel insurance company. The free hotline of the Association for Consumer Information (VKI) on behalf of the Ministry of Social Affairs (BMSGPK) for questions concerning travel law is available Monday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., under the service number 0800 201 211.
