Here there is a great tradition of alpine farming, and there are numerous farms which produce the Gail Valley alpine cheese according to old recipes. Hikers and cheese lovers can follow the 30-kilometre, cross-border cheese trail in the Carnic Alps, which can also be tackled by mountain bike or on horseback.

Golfers in Kirchbach can look forward to the 18-hole Nassfeldgolf golf course in Waidegg, which also has a 6-hole practice course attached. The flat course with several water obstacles was designed by Gary Player.

In winter in Kirchbach and the surrounding area, there are opportunities for cross-country skiing, winter hikes and tobogganing. The skiing enjoyment on the Nassfeld, Carinthia’s largest ski region, is just under 20 minutes away by shuttle bus.
