Along the way is the dreamy Karlbad, where people have indulged in alpine wellness for more than 300 years. Guests can bathe in wooden troughs in which the water from the Karlquelle spring has been heated up using glowing rocks.

Nature lovers and hikers will feel good in the Nockberge Biosphere Reserve, of which the municipality of Ebene Reichenau forms part. The aim of the Nockberge Biosphere Reserve is to preserve biological and cultural diversity – here nature and the cultural landscape are nurtured and cherished. The basic principles are to keep traditions alive, allow only soft tourism and handle nature in a sustainable way.

The Turracher Höhe is an idyllic mountain and lake plateau, which awaits summer visitors with a multifaceted active hiking programme.

“Heidi's Mountain World” on the Falkert is a paradise for families, with a children’s adventure park filled with giant figures where children can find out all about life in the mountains the fun way. The facilities include an adventure trail through the wild yet romantic stone pine woods, a marmot area, a giant slide and a fishpond.

In winter the Turracher Höhe and the Falkert beckon for winter sports. Amongst others, the piste butler service on the Turracher Höhe and the Heidi Alm mountain resort on the Falkert enjoy great popularity. The Falkert wins visitors over with its guaranteed snow and manageably-sized pistes for beginners and freeriders, and also specialises in children who are learning to ski. On the Falkert you will find the only ski tour learning trail of its kind in Austria. Just a few kilometres away from Ebene Reichenau is the spa and winter sports resort of Bad Kleinkirchheim, a venue for Alpine Ski World Cup races.
