A high plateau with three mountain lakes, covered by Austria’s largest uninterrupted area of Swiss pine forest, ringed by the gentle and yet imposing Nockberge Mountains – that is the Turracher Höhe in summer.
Between November and the beginning of May this is a varied winter paradise with pistes at up to 2,205 metres with guaranteed snow, idyllic cross-country skiing trails and winter hiking routes, and a mountain lake that turns into a skating rink in winter. The ski region as a whole is a hit thanks to its altitude, and above all its friendly and manageable size.
