With more than 2,000 proven hours of sunshine a year, Diex is the sunniest mountain village in Austria.
The municipality lies at an altitude of around 1,200 metres above sea level, and offers a unique panoramic view. In summer hikers are delighted by the more than 100 kilometres of marked hiking trails in a mist-free location, and the municipal area is also crossed by several signposted cycle and mountain bike tours. In winter the blue sky is a treat for young skiers making their first trails, snowshoe hikers and ski tourers.
