Lake Wörthersee car-free
April 2024

All the roads around Lake Wörthersee are only open to cyclists and skaters, all day long. On this day, every year around 35,000 people take the opportunity to explore probably the best-known Carinthian lake by bike.

Lake Ossiacher See car-free
May 2024

The second largest car-free event in Carinthia, after the car-free day at Lake Wörthersee, is “Car-free Lake Ossiacher See”. Route length: 27 kilometres or 42 kilometres around Lake Ossiacher See and Feldkirchen. A good tip for tired or leisurely participants is the Lake Ossiacher See passenger ferry. Don’t forget to wear your helmet!

Carinthia Cycle Marathon

On 2th June there will be 2 distances leading through the Nockberge mountains, and a completely new concept will be presented: competitors will only be timed on the ascents. So the stress of getting to the start and on the descents can be avoided.

Ironman Austria
16 June 2024

What makes the Ironman Austria so extraordinary is the special connection between the spectators and the athletes – an interplay of excitement and a symbiosis of emotions. Around 3,000 athletes from 60 nations rise to the challenge. The start is at 6:40am in Klagenfurt in the approx. 22 degree warm Lake Wörthersee, where the athletes surge through the waves of the lake for 3.8 kilometres. Then the 180.2 km long cycle route leads through the picturesque mountain and lake landscape of Carinthia (1,680 m difference in altitude) before the marathon begins along the lakeside and through the town centre of Klagenfurt. The finish line is in the Ironman City in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee.

June 2024 marks the start of the ultimate road cycling adventure. Your 300 challenge! The LAKE 2 LAKE Challenge will take you from Lake Walchsee to Lake Wörthersee. In between, there are 306 kilometres of cycling to be tackled as a team, the Grossglockner High Alpine Road and a total of 4,230 metres of altitude to be overcome – go beyond your limits and join the club of 300. We will provide assistance with an exciting route, top support and an all-round, worry-free package.

Alpine-Adriatic Tour
14 – 18 August 2024

The International Alpine-Adriatic Tour is Austria’s largest junior event in the road cycling sector and takes place in the greater Klagenfurt area. The tour comprises 4 stages and ends at the Klagenfurt Ring. JEROBOAM 300 Austria Gravel Challenge
29 - 30 September 2023

Gravel and mountain bikers can participate in the worldwide JEROBOAM Gravel Bike Series on three routes from 75 to 300 kilometres. Breathtaking routes, slow food and craft beer in the region of Lake Wörthersee and Villach, as well as the legendary 300 km loop from lakes over passes and alpine pastures across the natural landscape of the impressive, rugged border region of Slovenia, Italy and Carinthia.

Tour de Kärnten
Does not take place in 2024.

THE stage race for everyone. This event takes place in one of the most beautiful regions of Austria, in the region of "Faaker See". There will be a stage race for six days: approximately 400 km and about 8.800 elevation gain. This race is prepared like a “Tour de France“ or a “Giro d´Italia”.
